After a break of four years since he won the UBS Hong Kong Open in 2009, Gregory Bourdy
captured the Wales Open at The Celtic Manor Resort to take his European Tour wins to four.
He finished with three successive birdies which fellow overnight leader Peter Uihlein was
unable to match, they both carded 67's (in fact Gregory carded two) which were the week's lowest rounds.
He said of his win. “This is my fourth European Tour win but I’m so proud to win this trophy on
this great golf course. That is a very tough finish especially with this wind, it’s one of the toughest
we play on tour. It’s always a great pleasure for all the players to play this golf course and stay in
this hotel. Walking down this fairway and onto this green, with this setting, is always an amazing
experience and this is one of the best of my life.”
