The main photo above shows an ecstatic Scott Drummond after sinking
his birdie putt at the 17th to move into the outright lead ahead of playing
partner Angel Cabrera at -17. Scott also birdied the last hole to clich a
two stroke victory and can be seen all smiles with the trophy in the bottom
right picture. It was his first victory on the full European tour and earned
him a massive 625,000 euros (£419,778) - somewhat dwafiing the 54,147 euros
that he had earned in his previous 26 tour events! With his victory Scott
also became the first man since the legendary Arnold Palmer in 1975 to lift
the trophy at his first attempt. It was also a wonderful birthday present for
Drummond who had turned 30 the previous day. The sequence of photos down the
left hand side show Scott - sporting his waterproof top during a downpour - on
the 6th fairway.r
