At the 2013 U.S. Open Hunter Mahan had his best finish in a Major when he took joint fourth place with
three other players, two of whom were (or were about to be - Dufner) Major winners. He went into the final round
just one stroke behind the then leader Mickleson but a final 75 lsaw him drifting from the top of the leader board
- as was Mickelson - leaving England's Justin Rose to take the title back to England for the first time in thirty
three years (Tony Jackin 1970). He is pictured here at the British Open in Scotland (Muirfield) during his
fourth round.
