On 20/2/82 v France he set a Five Nations
record for points in a match (19 in a 27-15 win).
In 1984 he set a Five Nations record for season's
total with 44 points.
On retirement, he was England's leading points
scorer and most capped full-back. Toured with
British Lions to NZ, but played in no Tests. He also
played first class cricket for Notts.
Awarded MBE in 1989.
