John 'Ian' McLauchlan is pictured above playing for the Barbarians against the

East Midlands on 2nd March 1972.


Standing behind Ian is Alistair McHarg of Scotland (44 caps).

 

Career Record: Played 43, Won 13, Drew 2, Lost 26.  Test Points: 3 Tries: 1.


Plus eight games for the British & irish Lions in New Zealand (1971) and

South Africa (1974). Won 4,  Drew 2, Lost 2.


Ian played 28 consecutive internationals between
the 13-8 defeat against France on 16/1/1971 and
the 15-6 victory versus Ireland on 20/3/1976.


His nickname was Mighty Mouse. He became the 122nd President of the Scottish Rugby Union.

He served two years from 2010 to 2012.
