Six Nations Championship.

Smith retired from International Rugby in 2005 after winning 61 caps.

He also played in all 6 Tests of the 1997 and 2001 British Lions tours to

South Africa (won 2, lost 1) and Australia (won 1, lost 2).


 


Career Record: Played 61: Won 26, Drew 1, Lost 34.

Test Points: 30  Tries: 6

 

On 21st November 2019, it was announced that Smith had been diagnosed with

stage-four cancer, with tumours in his colon, brain and liver.

He died on 6th April 2022, aged 50.  He was the father of three chidren.
