The final of the women's 400 metres at the 2017 World Championships
proved to be a disaster for Shaune Miller-Uibo - as the images above show.
The 2016 Olympic Champion and perhaps the favourite for the title, stumbled
as the runner approached the finish and her left leg 'stopped running'.
She made some amends by winning the bronze medal in the 200 metres
two days later. Earlier in the year she had set a new World Record for the
200 metres (straight) of 21.76. The previous record was 22.55 set by
Allyson Felix on 16 May 2010 in Manchester.
In Brusells on September 1st.
she ran a season best of 49.46 the fastest time of 2017. Her PB at the time
was 49.44, set when winning the Olympic Gold.
