The inset picture above shows a delighted Aksana celebrating her gold
medal success in the women's Hammer at the 2008 Olympic Games in
Beijing. It was an unexpected performance by Miankova, who won gold thanks
to a new Olympic record throw of 76.34m in the 5th round, leaving her
comfortably ahead of her nearest challenger Yipsi Moreno. The main photo above also shows Aksana during the final.
(Eight years later she was caught. See below).

Aksana Miankova finished 7th. at the 2012 Olympic Games.
Her personal best was 78.69 m. HOWEVER !
In 2016, she was stripped of her Olympic medal after a re-analysis of her drug sample
tested positive.
On 25th. November 2016 the IOC disqualified her from both the 2008 and 2012
Olympic Games and struck her results from the record for failing a drugs test in a re-analysis
of her doping samples from 2008 and 2012.
It was the only medal she ever "won" at a major championship.
