The pictures above show Ivan during the final of the men's Hammer at the 2006
European Championships in Gothenburg. He won the gold medal with a seasons
best throw of 81.11m with Finland's Olli-Pekka Karjalainen taking silver and
Tikhon's compatriot Vadim Devyatovski the bronze. However, following testing
he was disqualified. In May 2012 banned substances were found in Tsikhan's samples
from the 2004 Summer Olympics after being retested. The European Athletics Federation
then removed his name from the official results
