Defending champion Nafissatou Thiam began the heptathlon with a season best in the hurdles.
Then with Katrina Johnson-Thompson she set a heptathlon Championship record on the high jump,
followed by winning the shot put to move into the lead. But a poor 200m put her into 2nd place
at the end of day one. Thereafter K.J.T. remained in the lead throughout the second day,
winning by over 200 points.
Nafissatou's best score for the event was 7,227 points set in 2017.
