Belgium's Philip Milanov celebrates his new National record during the final of the
men's discus, in Beijing, where he won the silver medal. He first broke the Belgium national
record (of Van Daele 64.24m) by eight centimetres in Lille on 23 February that year and improving
the record further to 66.02m on June 8th. Another record throw of 66.43m qualified him for the
World Championships, where, in the third round, he reached 66.90 to again improve his record.
The photo above is of him celebrating that throw. The inset is of him the next day with his medal.
