Amantle Montsho and Christine Ohuruogu cross the finish line together at the end
of the women's 400m metres final in Moscow. The defending champion Amantle was given
second place behind the 2012 Olympic Champion Ohuruogu in the closest of finishes at
the World Championships. Weeks earlier Amantle set a new National record for
Botswana of 49.33. However, in 2014 at The Commonwealth Games Montsho failed a routine
drugs test from her 'A' sample. Subsequently this finding was confirmed by the results
of her 'B' sample which also tested positive for the stimulant methylhexaneamine.
In March 2015 the Botswana Athletics Association handed her a 2-year ban.
