A decathlete in 2012 Wang Jianan realised he was an exceptional long jumper and
decided just to specialise in that event. In 2014 he won the World Junior Championship
in Oregon (8.08m) and in 2015 was one of China's long jumpers at the World
Championships in the Chinese capital, Beijing. He lead the home trio of jumpers,
all of whom cleared 8 metres, Wang winning the bronze medal with his second jump.
