Wenxiu Zghang is pictured above during the final of the womens Hammer
at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka. She turned in a fine
performance to win the bronze medal - her first medal at a major
championship - with a throw of 74.39m. A delighted Zhang later
commented: "I'm proud to bring China its first medal of the
championships. Coming into competition, I didn't think about a medal but
just try to do my best. It's the fourth time I take part in the World
Championships, so I have a lot of experience and knew how to stay in
control. "It is really a confidence booster for next year's Olympic
Games at home." |
