Olympic Games in Beijing. She finished in a creditable 4th place in a time of 2.27.16,
just 9 seconds behind the bronze medallist, her compatriot Chunxiu Zhou.

Xiaolin Zhu is pictured above during the closing few metres of the women's Marathon
at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka. She performed admirably to finish
in 4th place in a time of 2.31.21 and for much of the race looked like winning a medal,
only to be overhauled by home favourite Reiko Tosa in the closing stages.
