Pedro Pichardo in action at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing where he won the silver medal
in the men's triple jump. After three jumps both he and Christian Taylor shared the lead with 17.60.
With Pedro's last jump he took the lead with 17.73 to Taylor's 17.68 (4th. jump) and looked set to
win the gold medal. Alas, for the Cuban the Taylor, the 2012 Olympic Champion, was not finished and
leapt an amazing 18.21 for a new American record - beating Kenny Harrison's 18.09 set in 1996
at the Atlanta Olympics. Pedro's personal best at the time was 18.08.
