Bába was one of seven athletes who failed at the height
of 2.32m, with only the gold medal winner Yuriy Krymarenko
going clear. Jaroslav was placed joint fifth with Nicola Ciotti
on the countback rule. A year earlier Bába had won a
bronze medal at the Athens Olympics.
