The main photo above shows Roman during the Long Jump discipline of
the Decathlon at the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki. He produced
an impressive leap of 7.86m to collect 1025 points, 73 points ahead of
the next furthest jumper Jaakko Ojaniemi who scored 952. The Long Jump
would prove to be far and away Sebrle's best performance of the ten
disciplines, with the 881 points he scored in the 100m his next best.
Roman, the gold medal winner at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, won
the silver medal with an overall total of 8521 points, 211 behind the
gold medal winner Bryan Clay. The left hand inset picture shows Sebrle
being lead by Clay in the 110m Hurdles, whilst the right hand photo
shows Roman in full flow during the 100m. |
