Roman is pictured above during various disciplines of the Decathlon
at the 2006 European Championships in Gothenburg. Sebrle, the 2004
Olympic champion, comfortably won the gold medal with a points total of
8526, 170 clear of the silver medal winner Attila Zsivoczky with Aleksey
Drozdov a further 6 points back in the bronze medal position. Roman had
in fact held a 264 point lead going into the final event, the 1500m,
and with the gold medal all but won he was able to ease round in a
leisurely 4: 46.91.
