Roman SEBRLE - Czech Republic - 2006 European Decathlon Champion.

 

Roman is pictured above during various disciplines of the Decathlon at the 2006 European Championships in Gothenburg. Sebrle, the 2004 Olympic champion, comfortably won the gold medal with a points total of 8526, 170 clear of the silver medal winner Attila Zsivoczky with Aleksey Drozdov a further 6 points back in the bronze medal position. Roman had in fact held a 264 point lead going into the final event, the 1500m, and with the gold medal all but won he was able to ease round in a leisurely 4: 46.91.
