Zersenay TADESE - Eritrea - 10,000m finalist at the 2008 Olympic Games.

The main photo above shows Zersenay hot on the heels of Kenenisa Bekele during the final of the mens 10000m at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Tadesse, however, would have no answer to Bekele's devastating finish, with the Ethiopian claiming gold in a new Olympic record time. Zersenay, who won the bronze medal at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, had to settle for 5th place this time around in a time of 27.05.11. Sileshi Sihine (behind Tadesse in the main photo above) won the silver medal, with Kenya's Micah Kogo taking bronze. The inset picture shows the earlier stages of the final with Zersenay at the head of the field closely followed by Ethiopian legend Haile Gebrselassie.
