Abreham Cherkos is pictured above (1658) leading the field alongside his
compatriot Tariku Bekele (1657) during the final of the men's 5000m at
the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Cherkos would go on to finish in 5th
place in a time of 13.16.46, with Bekele a further position back in 6th.
The gold medal went to Tariku's elder brother Kenenisa Bekele, who is
behind Abreham in the photo above. |
