Almaz Ayana, the 10,000m champion, was unable to match the speed of Helen Obiri in the

Almaz Ayana took three years off due to injury problems and pregnancy, she started
competing again from April 2022. On 16th October 2022, she made the fastest ever women's
marathon debut of 2:17:20 winning the Amsterdam Marathon. The 7th fastest time in history.
