Berhane ADERE - Ethiopia - World Championship 10,000m gold & silver medals.

Berhane is pictured above (200) crossing the line to win the silver medal in the women's 10000m at the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki. The Dibaba sisters, Tirunesh and Ejagayehu, won the gold and bronze respectively, meaning that Ethiopia completed a clean sweep of the medals. The inset photo shows the three Ethiopian runners bunched together at the bell. Adere's time of 30: 25.41 was a seasons best but not enough to retain the title she had won two years previously in Paris.
