A delighted Meseret is pictured above crossing the line in first place in the 3000m at the 2006 Grand Prix Final in Stuttgart. She narrowly beat her fellow Ethiopian Tirunesh Dibaba into second place and clearly enjoyed the moment having, remarkably, lost out to Dibaba the previous day in the 5000m by just 1 hundredth of a second.
