Muktar EDRIS - Ethiopia - 2017 World Championships 5,000m champion.

Muktar Edris crosses the finish line to win the men's 5,000 metres at the 2017
World Championships and end Mo Farah amazing run of winning ten gold medals
at the two "Majors". Eight days earlier Mo had retained his 10,000m title but Muktar
was determined to win this race.
Edris (P.B. 12:54.83 in 2014) and Farah (P.B. 12.53.11 in 2011) were evenly matched
but the younger man by eleven years was to triumph.

At the "bell" the team work of the Ethiopians can be seen here as Mo is boxed on the inside lane.

The signs of Mo's defeat were already there as the twin images below show.
In their heat Edris ran alongside Farah and turned to him with face that suggested
I've got the beating of you. (At least that is how G.H. read the gesture at the time.)
How G.H. read the gesture of the Mobot after the race is unprintable.

In poor taste - as the English would say. In particular as he then kissed the track and "prayed".
