A delighted Tirunesh Dibaba is pictured above (1659) shortly after crossing the line to win gold in the the
final of the womens 5000m at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. The victory completed a fabulous
Olympic Games for the 24 year old Ethiopian, who had won the 10000m title a week earlier.
These victories continued Dibaba's liking for the colour gold, having also enjoyed success at the
World Championships on four occasions. The happy silver medal winner above is Turkey's
Elvan Abeylegesse, who also placed second behind Tirunesh in the 10000m
at the 2007 World Championships.
