Yomif Kejelcha started 2016 by winning the gold medal in the 3,000 metres
at the 2016 World Indoor Championships in Portland. On 27th. August 2016,
Kejelcha won the 3,000m at the 2016 Diamond League in Paris with in a new
Under 20 world record of 7:28.19. He is pictured above winning that race
and setting the record.
The year before at his first major International Championships he finished 4th. in the
men's 5,000m at the World Championships.
He was just 18 years old.
