Christoph Harting about to throw the discus at the 2015 World Championship in Beijing

where he finished 8th in the men's final, with his opening throw of 63.94m.

 

However in 2016, at the Rio Olympic Games he followed his elder brother

Robert by winning the gold medal in the men's discus with a throw of 68.37m

on his final attempt, to snatch victory from 2016 European champion

Piotr Małachowski who had lead the event since the third round.

His brother Robert Harting won the title in London 2012 but failed to reach

the final in Rio with his only counting throw measuring 62.21. 

Robert threw 68.27 in London to win his gold medal: brother

Christoph threw 68.37 in Rio !
