Johannes VETTER - Germany - Bronze medal at 2019 World championships

Johannes Vetter throwing during the final of the men's javelin at the 2019

World Championships. His qualifying distance, a single throw, would have

won him the Gold medal. However, the final produced no memorable throws and was such

that Julius Yego, the 2015 champion and 2016 Olympic silver medalist, failed

to record a single valid throw. (83.36m his best of three valid throws in qualifying).

Keshorn Walcott, 2012 Olympic Champion, was a lowly 11th with 77.47m (84.44 qual)
