Defending Olympic champion Malaika Mihambo, pictured above during the
qualifying rounds, had to accept second place in Paris, as Davis-Woodhall
passed seven metres twice in the final to win. Mihambo's personal best jump
of 7.30m (2019) was better than Tara's 7.18m, but that was achieved in
Olympic year 2024.
