Following a difficult 2013 Olympic long jump champions Greg Rutherford not only
improved the British record in 2014 but he captured two more major title.
The Commonwealth in Glasgow and The European in Zurich a few weeks later.
He is pictured above taking the European crown. He jumped 8.29m in Switzerland and
8.20m in Scotland for his two gold medals.
On April 24th 2014 Greg Rutherford set a new British long jump record of 8.51m
at the Olympic Training Centre in San Diego. To the British folk reading this is 27 feet 11 inches.
Oh so close to a 28 foot jump.
