Katarina Johnson-Thompson winning the long jump on day two of the heptathlon
at the World Championships. She jumped 6.77m on her second attempt to score
1095 points. The long jump is the fifth event. At the conclusion on day three (the 800m started past midnight on day two)
Katarina may hve had a slight disappointment at not passing 7,000 points.
Only four women, including silver medallist Thiam had done such. She did however
beat 2012 Olympic Champion Jessica Ennis-Hill's British record of 6955 (set at the
London Olympics).

Katarina began her gold medal quest with the 100m hurdles, beating Olympic Champion Thiam, as pictured above
and scoring 1111 points with a personal best time of 13.09. She then moved to the high jump.
1171 points and a second victory after clearing 1.95 metres. To conclude the day she then won the 200m
pictured below (and illustrating the Stadium has many ugly features). That description can not be applied to
Katarina (see foot of this page).

Her hair needed pinning up during the high jump.
