Pictured above is the moment Katarina' quest for Olympic Gold went awry when her opening jump
was a run through (4.65m). Her coach Aston Moore did his best to settle her but the her second
attempt was equally worthless (6.04m) as a performance to test the defending champion
Nafissatou Thiam. Her third attempt was good (6.40m) but well below what she would have
expected. In 2015 she had jumped 6.93m.
Trying as hard as she could her 800 metres was not quite good enough to make up the points needed.
