Laura Muir is pictured above beginning the 3rd. lap of the women's 1,500m
final. Despite a season best time she was unable to challenge for a medal
position such was the high standard of the race, as indicated below. Every
one of the first eight achieved a NR/PB/SB ! In fact Laura would have needed
to carve more than a second from her British record to have even been in
medal contention !

This is the finish straight of Laura's semi-final in which she finished third. Seven from the race
qualified for the final with five from the other semi. In all the heats and semi-finals no one beat 4 minutes !
