Laviai Nielsen running in her semi-final of the women's 400m in Paris.
She came third in 50.59, but needed to beat 50.17 to quaify for he final.
However, she did win a bronze medal in the women's 4x400 metres
on the last day of the athletics events at the Stade de France. And a
bronze medal in the 4x400m mixed relay.
A few weeks earlier she did reach a 400m final, the one in in Rome.
