In 1973 Berwyn Jones won the first of his six consecutive AAA titles.
He finished second on three occasions in 1970, 1971 and 1972 .
He was the first ever UK champion in 1977 on home soil in Cwmbran Stadium (Wales).
He also won the silver medal in the 1976 European Indoor Championships in Munich,
when he set a new British record of 7.80 for 60m hurdles. Price later became Assistant Director
of Leisure for Swansea City Council, Head of Sports Tourism for Swansea. He
studied at Lewis School, Pengam and the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth.
