Christina CAHILL - Great Britain & N.I. - 4th at 1988 Olympic Games. Gold at 1982 Commonwealth.

Christian is pictured above at the 1990 Commonwealth Games in Auckland where she won

the silver medal in the women's 1,500 metres.

In 1982 she won the gold medal in the same event (4m 08.28s)

from Gillian Dainty  ENG (4:10.80s) and Lorraine Moller NZ (4:12.67s).


She came 4th in 1986 (4:12.84s). 

 

In 1979, she became the first British woman in history

to run the 800 metres in under two-minutes with a time of 1:59.05 in Turin.

She won the first of 11 AAAs Championship and UK Championship titles in 1977,

winning the AAAs National 800 metres title in 2:03.78.

On 6 July 1984, Boxer achieved her career best of 4:00.57 in the 1500 m at Gateshead,

to break Christine Benning's five-year-old British record.
