Katharine Merry's athletics career spanned 20 years. Aged 12 she topped the UK Under 13
rankings in 7 different events. She ran for Great Britain at the 1989, 1991 and 1993 European Junior Championships,
in the sprints events winning a silver medal over 200m in 1991, in Greece, and the 200m Gold medal in 1991.
She competed at two Olympic Games and one World Championships - 1999 where she finished 5th in the 400m.
He outstanding moment was winning the bronze medal at the 2000 Olympic Games in Australia.
Her best time for the 400 metres was 49.59 and for the 200m 22.76.
