Kelly Holmes is pictured above (1809) crossing the finishing line to win a
magnificent Gold medal in the 800m at the 2004 Olympics in Athens. The
left hand inset picture shows Holmes embracing one of her all time
heroes Seb Coe after he had fittingly presented her with her Gold medal.
A few days later Kelly completed a sensational double by winning the
1500m (see next page), a feat which had been beyond even Seb and the
equally illustrious Steve Ovett in the glory days of British middle
distance running in the late 1970s and early 80s.
