The main photo above shows Mo Farah crossing the line to win gold in the 5000m at the 2010 European Championships in Barcelona. The inset pictures show just how much the victory meant to an emotional Farah, who, with this 5000m success, became the British athlete to win both the 5000m and 10000m at the same European Championships. On August 19th, three weeks after his 5000m victory at the European Championships, Mo achieved another 'first' for a British athlete when he ran a sub 13 minute 5000 metres in Zurich at the famous Weltklasse meeting. His time of 12 minutes 57.94 seconds beat David Moorcroft's UK record of 13 minutes 00.41 set in Oslo at the Bislett Games on 7th July 1982.
