Mo Farah performs his now customary, arms out wide - eyes open wide, race winning pose as he retains his
World Championship 5,000 metres title in Beijing. Seven days earlier had also retained his 10,000
metres title and after his second triumph, in the Chinese capital, became the first man in history
to win the race three times - he was also the double Olympic champion over the same two distances.
His lap last took just 52.5 seconds. Ismael Kirui and Benjamin Limo had both won the 5,000m twice.
Ironically, at the time, multi medal Mo was not even amongst the top twenty fastest 25 runners
in history over 5,000 metres !
The World Record at the time was 12:37.35 by Kenenisa Bekele ran in May 2004

Mo pointing? He was asking for a Union flag and as the smaller photo shows, got one.
