The main photo above shows a delighted Rhys Williams celebrating after winning a bronze medal
in the 400m Hurdles at the 2006 European Championships in Gothenburg. The young Welshman,
whose father is the Welsh Rugby legend J.J. Williams (see elsewhere on this site), snatched the bronze
y just 1 hundredth of a second from the fourth placed athlete Naman Keita. The two action pictures are
during the heats. Williams then rounded off the championships in style by teaming up with Rob Tobin,
Graham Hedman and Tim Benjamin to win a silver medal in the 4x400m relay.
