Antonietta is pictured above during the final of the women's High Jump at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka. She produced an excellent performance to win silver - her first medal at a major championship - with a new national record leap of 2.03m, beating Russia's Anna Chicherova to second place on the countback rule.

Croatia's Blanka Vlasic took the gold with a clearance of 2.05m. A delighted Di Martino later commented: "Three weeks prior to the world I had a stress fracture in my left foot and had to rest for two whole weeks. But I wanted so much to go to the championships and I am glad I did. I feel extraordinarily good, this is amazing. I am rejoicing. When I cleared 2.03 metres I said to myself 'Mamma mia!'"
