The race action photo above shows the womens 100m Hurdles final at
the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Delloreen (four from the right)
finished in 5th place in a time of 12.65 sec, the identical time to that
of Damu Cherry (three from left), but the American was deemed to be
ahead of Ennis-London.
In what was an incredibly tight finish for places
2-6, Australia's Sally McLellan (two from right) won the silver in
12.64, with the bronze medal going to Canada's Priscilla Lopes-Schliep
(two from the left), who was also timed at 12.64. Brigitte Foster-Hylton
(far left) was placed 6th, just a hundredth of a second back on
Ennis-London in 12.66 secs.
Dawn Harper of the USA (four from left)
comfortably won the gold in a time of 12.54 secs, although it may well
have all been different had Lolo Jones (three from right) not clipped
the penultimate hurdle when seemingly set for glory. The inset photo
above shows Delloreen in full flow during the heats.
