The race action pictures above show Shelly-Ann Fraser (lane 4) about to cross the line to win 100m gold in a time of 10.78 secs at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Her fellow Jamaicans Sherone Simpson (far right) and Kerron Stewart (three from left) recorded identical times of 10.98 secs and were both awarded silver medals, meaning Jamaica completed a memorable clean sweep of the medals. The inset picture shows a delighted Fraser flying the Jamaican flag during her lap of honour.
