Veronica CAMPBELL-BROWN - Jamaica - 200m title retained at Beijing Olympics (result)

The inset photo above shows Veronica crossing the line to win gold in the womens 200m final at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, thus successfully defending the title she had won four years earlier in Athens. Campbell-Brown's terrific performance - her time of 21.74 secs was a new PB - saw her comfortably take gold ahead of the USA's Allyson Felix (21.93), who is the other athlete in shot. Veronica's compatriot Kerron Stewart won the bronze medal on yet another great night for Jamaican sprinting. The main picture above shows Campbell-Brown in full flow during the 200m heats.
