where he finished 5th in the final of the men's 400 metres hurdles.
The winner was fellow countryman Nicolas Bett in a new Kenyan record.

Just a year later at the Rio Games it was Boniface Mucheru Tumuti who was to set
a new Kenyan record for the event when he won the silver medal in the men's 400 metres.
However, he was unable to repeat the gold medal performance and had to settle
for the silver behind Kerron Clement, the 2007 World Champion and now Olympic Champion.
