Eliud is pictured above (2260) keeping close tabs on Kenenisa Bekele during the final
of the men's 5000m at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. He was unable to match the
Ethiopian in the closing straight, however, with Bekele racing away to win gold in a new
lympic record time of 12.57.82. Kipchoge, a gold medallist at the 2003 World Championships
n Edmonton, claimed the silver medal in a time of 13.02.80, with his compatriot
Edwin Cheruiyot Soi (2245) winning bronze.
