Faith Kipyegon, the silver medalist at the 2015 World Championships, enjoyed a
memorable 2016 beginning with an early highlight in May when she set a new
National Kenyan record in the 1,500 metres of 3:56.41 and crowned in August
when she won the Olympic Games 1,500 Gold medal. Her winning time was
rather slow but she won comfortably from 2015 World 1500m champion
Genzebe Dibaba.
Faith Chepngetich Kipyegon ran a 4:03.95 to win her semi final, Genzebe Dibaba won hers
with 4:03.06.
