With the silver medal for finishing second in the 5,000 metres at the
2024 Games already hers, Faith Kipyegon's victory in the 1500 metres
gave her ever reason to go wild at the end. After all she had just won the
event for a record third time and improved her own Olympic record in a
new time of 3:51.29 seconds. Her face said it all. She had of course become
the first women in history to beat 3:50 for the distance, the month before
3:49.04 on 7th July in Paris (Stade Charléty), so she was the clear favourite.
